How to Buy Cheap Sports Tickets
So, you are looking for cheap sports tickets and don’t want to pay too much or get ripped off?
These days when it comes to sports tickets it all comes down to Economics 101 a.k.a. “the law of supply and demand”. The greater the demand of a sporting event, the harder it will be to get in the door for a low price, but it is not impossible. The closer that it gets to gametime, the price of the ticket becomes less valuable as the ticket may become potentially worthless.
Here are some tips to get the cheapest sports tickets possible:
1. Check Stubhub, TicketsNow and other ticket exchange sites frequently as prices change often.
2. Wait until a few days or hours before the event you have time on your side. Check Stubhub, eBay, Craigslist for good deals
3. Go to or call the sports venue box office the morning of the event, a lot of time there are still tickets at the box office for face value.
4. Check Ticketmaster in the days before the event. As groups of vips and players wives decide not to go, those tickets are released to the general public in an unannounced ”ticket drop”
5. Wait until the game starts, shop around for the best price, see if the ticket scalper will walk into the event with you and you will pay him when safely inside the sports venue.
6. If the sports event is outside and the weather forecast calls for rain or bad weather the market price of the sports ticket usually goes down.
7. Generally, weeknight games are usually priced less than games on the weekend.
